We strive to give you and your pets the best care around. We require a meet and greet evaluation to determine many factors of your pets groom. During this session we will talk about your pets overall health, skin and coat, behavior issues, desired cut and options best for them. This gives us a chance to learn more about one another and to make sure we are a good fit for each other. We look forward to meeting you and your furry friends.
~Health and Wellness check
In many cases, we see your pet more frequently than the veterinarian! We would never diagnose as we are not licensed veterinarians—we are more like the messengers. Your pet can't speak for itself, and we are here to help them communicate their overall health and hygiene. Our years of experience caring for animals will help keep you informed if your pet is in need of professional attention.
~Brushing and/or De-shedding
Believe it or not, this is the most important part of the grooming process! We have a great knowledge of brushes. We have tried about every kind of brush you can buy from super cheap to super expensive. We have found just a few that do the job right. Why is this important you might ask?
The wrong brush can scrape, cause pain, and waste time. You can count on us to take proper care by thoroughly brushing the coat and exfoliating the skin.
Did you know the pets shed a dead layer of skin about every 21 days? That's why it’s important to exfoliate the skin properly. Just another reason to choose us! We have the passion and drive to seek out the best practices in our industry.
"I de-shed my pet all the time, I have a furminator" say most clients.
This tool, if not properly used on the right type of coat, can possibly cause more harm than good. Since no 2 coats are the same, the right tool for your pet is needed. No worries! We do know!
Not to mention we brush and thoroughly comb before AND after bathing. This means we get all the tangles and mats out. This ensures the best outcome for a great groom or bath service!
~Anal Glands Checked
You might think, "what is this?'
Your pet has two anal sacs, also called anal glands, located on the lower sides of his anus. They produce an excretion with a scent that identifies them and tells other pets such things as your pet's sex, health and approximate age. These sacs express (excrete) this fluid when the dog has a bowel movement or when they are scared.
This isn't the pretty part of our job, but it’s an essential part of your pet’s comfort. With our trained experience we can do this and check to see that everything is healthy back there.
~Deep Cleansing Bath
This is not just a bath! There is science; mixology and procedures to get the best results for the skin and coat. We pride ourselves on our techniques and handling skills. This is so important to get right. If not done properly you could have a smelly, greasy, itchy, dry, or stressed out pet.
Because a dead layer of skin is shed every 21 days, with that comes dead hair. Who doesn't want less hair and dander in the house?
We also add Blueberry Facial to this wonderful bath experience. It cleans and brightens your pet's face. It's relaxing and cleansing with aromatherapy scents. Humans love the fresh fruit scent too!
This is not your average dryer. At home a dryer dries the hair but doesn't recondition the skin and coat by blowing off excess dead skin and hair. This high velocity dryer is meant for the pet industry to get the job done right! We have great procedures for ensuring pet comfort throughout this experience. Your pet’s positive experience is so important to us!!
This is an essential procedure after bathing a pet. Water and shampoo get into the ears occasionally. Our professional ear cleaner by Envirogroom cleans, hydrates and dries without over drying. With our knowledge and experience we can tell if there are any problems that need to be addressed with your veterinarian.
We get asked this a lot: “Do you pluck ear hair?"
The answer is no. For many years we did, but found that most veterinarians don't approve. Plucking the ear hair can cause pain, burst blood vessels, rip a layer of skin off, and take out their way to protect the ear canal from debris and other foreign objects. We do trim excess hair out. In rare cases we will pluck the hair inside if there is a mat that can't be cut out. If you have a note from your vet saying to pluck it we will honor it.
Of course we trim their nails! We trim them with a safe nail trimmer especially for pets. Did you know the technical reason why?
Trimming your pet's nails helps protect them from potential injury and infection. Long nails catch easily and can break or tear, causing pain, discomfort, and sometimes unexpected veterinary expenses. And even if they don't cause injury, too-long nails can quickly become uncomfortable by putting pressure on the joints of the feet and toes. Long nails can also cause pets to slip and slide on smooth surfaces. This can cause fear when walking on smooth floors.
Trimmed nails are a must! With our trained experience you will be pleased at how safely and short they will be trimmed.
~Full Service Groom (Hair Cut All Over) OR Bath Brush Tidy Up (Partial Groom)
